TITLE: REPORT RESEARCH EXPERT

PROGRAM: Advancing Innovative Clean Energy Ecosystems in Vietnam

NEW ENERGY NEXUS VIETNAM: New Energy Nexus Vietnam was launched in early 2019 with the mission of promoting Vietnam’s clean energy transition. We accomplish this by assisting entrepreneurs and startups with acceleration and ecosystem development. By enhancing our strong bond with all the stakeholders in the network, we aim to further develop the energy ecosystem in the country, support a smooth transition to sustainable initiatives and build a pipeline of potential entrepreneurs. Through this program, NEXVN helps clean energy startups and entrepreneurs by offering resources, coaching, mentorship, and strategic advice. It also builds the support ecosystem by creating an annual climate tech funding ecosystem that gives startups and entrepreneurs a comprehensive investment overview.

OVERVIEW

NEXVN is seeking Data Collection Collaborators to support the development of a comprehensive report on Vietnam’s Climate Tech Funding Ecosystem (CT-FE Report). Collaborators will conduct stakeholder interviews to gather insights on funding ecosystems, impact investing, women in climate tech, and startup success stories. This is a short-term, project-based role requiring strong research, communication, and analytical skills..

Report objective:

Increase the industry’s knowledge of clean energy and climate tech, investment trends to attract additional capital and supporters into the sector and to map the current practices of the clean energy and climate innovation ecosystem by producing the annual report.

Report outcome:

The CT-FE Report will comprehensively analyze Vietnam's climate tech funding ecosystem, including investment opportunities, successful fundraising strategies from case studies, and insights into demand for climate tech solutions, climate women entrepreneurs and climate innovation ecosystem mapping.

Report timeline:

May-June 2025: Data collection and analysis

Jul-Oct 2025: Developing the report

Nov 2025: Report launch and press release

KEY SCOPE OF WORK

Conduct Interviews:

Perform 10–15 semi-structured interviews (45 - 60 minutes each) with stakeholders, including venture capitalists, impact investors, climate tech startups founders, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers based on the given questionnaire. Schedule and coordinate interviews (virtual or in-person, primarily in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi).


Data Collection and Documentation:

Record the interview, and summarize key fi ndings and themes from each interview in a standardized format. Maintain confi dentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive stakeholder information.


Reporting:

Participate in weekly team debriefs to discuss findings and refi ne research approaches.


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in fi nance, business, environmental studies, or related fi elds

Profi cient in qualitative research, stakeholder engagement, or data collection.

Familiarity with Vietnam’s startup ecosystem, climate tech, or impact investing is a strong plus.


Commitment: Ability to commit 10–15 hours per week for 4–6 weeks (May–June 2025).
